London’s Soho Welcomes Sustainability-minded Pangaia Store

LONDON — Fashion brand and material science company Pangaia is set to open its first U.K. store this summer.

Located in the heart of Soho, shoppers will be able to purchase items from the environmentally conscious brand’s apparel line, which has cultivated a following thanks to its genderless, sustainably made products.

The storefront is the newest addition to property investment and development company Shaftesbury Capital’s portfolio.

“The signing highlights our approach to active curation, seeking out challenger and high growth brands which complement the multidimensional nature of the area and its existing brands and restaurants such as Aimé Leon Dore, Adidas Originals, End, Mountain, Kiln and Rita’s,” said Michelle McGrath, executive director at Shaftesbury Capital.

Carnaby Street, where the shop will open, hosted British photographer Rankin over the holiday season with his RankinLive project, where he photographed the general public alongside some famous faces.

Pangaia dipped its toes in the U.K. market in late 2023 when it unveiled a partnership with Archive, a branded resale company, on “ReWear,” a marketplace that allows customers to scan a QR code printed on the item’s care label, which is then automatically populated as a listing on the platform.

At COP28 in November last year, the label launched Trillion Bees, a nonprofit coalition dedicated to raising funds for projects protecting bee habitats and biodiversity.
