Prada Lands in Dallas in an Over 10,000-square-foot Boutique at NorthPark Center

Prada has landed in Dallas.

The Italian luxury firm opened a new store Tuesday at NorthPark Center in Dallas, spanning over 10,000 square feet.

Prada joins such luxury retailers as Gucci, Tiffany, Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, Burberry, David Yurman and Versace at the enclosed shopping mall that features more than 235 stores and restaurants.

“We are opening a new dedicated boutique in Dallas NorthPark with a lot of excitement and enthusiasm. We are introducing it as one of our flagship boutiques in the U.S. market,” said Gianfranco D’Attis, Prada brand chief executive officer.

D’Attis noted that the boutique utilizes an open space with six consecutive salons across one floor, which offer different experiences. “We created the layout in a way where it will allow us to organize special events and host unique pop-up experiences in the future,” said D’Attis.

He added, “When entering any market, but specifically Dallas, it is critical to offer the right product assortment and experience for our customers.”

In explaining the importance of the U.S. market to Prada, D’Attis said, “The U.S. market is a key pillar for Prada. That said, we have an opportunity to grow further and gain market share — we are heavily investing in the U.S., talent attraction, retail expansion, and experience is an obsession for us and naturally and integral part in this regard.”

D’Attis said now was “the right time, location and correct opportunity to open this boutique in Dallas.” The store, which is located between Louis Vuitton and Givenchy, was previously occupied by Nike.

D’Attis noted that Prada continues to be present with its partners, Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom in Dallas.

Nancy A. Nasher, president of NorthPark Management Co., said, “We are thrilled to bring the storied history and enduring elegance of this legendary luxury brand to NorthPark Center. Prada is a shining example of NorthPark’s commitment to exceptional store design, illustrating the brand’s brilliance in a captivating and elevated way.”

The concept of the new Prada boutique showcases a bright facade illuminated by backlight, with a three-dimensional triangular pattern that echoes the brand’s iconic logo. The entrance is framed by large windows.

Upon entering the store, one is greeted by the brand’s signature design elements, including the black-and white checkered marble floor, inspired by the original Prada store in Milan’s Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, and the iconic pastel green tone. Expansive wooden screens provide an open view into the interior spaces.

This is and has been an important ingendient of our retail culture,” said D’Attis.
