LONDON — Demi-fine jewelry brand Missoma has minted its newly opened third London store in Marylebone on New Cavendish Street.
“As our London flagship we wanted this store to feel really personal to us and the heart of our brand — having founded Missoma in 2007, I couldn’t wait to bring a little of my identity into it,” said Marisa Hordern, the brand’s founder and creative director.
Personal touches include Murano glass light fixtures from Hordern’s own private collection and the store’s pale green and blue color scheme, all of which wink to her at-home decor.
The brand’s other stand-alone stores are on Monmouth Street in London’s Covent Garden and Carnaby Street, but the brand considers this one its flagship.
“Marylebone has long been my favorite shopping destination. I love the mix of having a village feel alongside great brands, restaurants, bars and delicatessens,” said Hordern as to why she set eyes on the neighborhood as the brand’s flagship destination.
“We’ve been waiting on this particular space for a whole year — we knew it was the perfect location for us, and it was so worth the wait.”
While the brand declined to share hard numbers, Hordern said that the store’s opening weekend “beat all targets set.” Online, prices range from $13 for an adjustable necklace extender to $9,100 for a diamond tennis necklace; in-store, prices start at $125.
The two-story space offers a piercing and welding studio, as well as free engravings.
“In terms of layout, the downstairs has a studio that’s large enough for us to have events down there and gives us a way of meeting more of our community. We’ll be organizing lots of neighborhood events, from styling sessions to talks with people who inspire us,” said Hordern.
