Kelly Rowland Wraps Into Retrofête Faux Fur Coat With Beyoncé for Michelle Williams’ ‘Death Becomes Her’ Premiere

Kelly Rowland and the rest of the Destiny’s Child family was on-hand to support group member Michelle Williams on Thursday night in New York. Rowland attended the opening night of the Broadway musical “Death Becomes Her,” based on the popular film. In the production, Williams plays the sorceress Viola Van Horn. Beyonce and Rowland, who affectionally referred to Williams as one of her Destiny’s Child “sisters,” were at the opening alongside Tina Knowles, the mother of Beyonce, who often created the group’s costumes.

For the red carpet, Rowland embraced the winter weather. The singer and actress wore a full-length faux fur coat from Retrofete. Named the Dasha, the coat is in a reddish brown. The piece includes a short collar. She wore it over a sheer bodycon dress from Sons of Gemini. That column dress was sleeveless and featured a high turtleneck. Styled by Wilford Lenov, Rowland also wore black latex over-the-elbow gloves. She finished off the look with Rosie shades from Otra Eyewear as well as gold earrings, gold rings and a gold clutch. For shoes, she wore an open-toe platform style.

Hairstylist Kendall Dorsey did her short hair straight with a flip at the ends.

This isn’t the first time Rowland and Lenov have reached for Retrofete. On Nov. 16, the singer attended the Paramount Pictures film celebration hosted by Brian Robbins, where she wore another faux fur. This one was the company’s Averie coat. It was also full-length and featured large lapels. She paired it with a white turtleneck, white pants as well as gold accessories like a clutch, necklace and earrings.

It’s the time of year to wear furry coats. Kerry Washington has also pulled out hers already. Earlier this week she attended a screening of Tyler Perry’s “The Six Triple Eight” film in Atlanta, where she wore a leather coat featuring large fur lapels from Hermes.

The Destiny’s Child crew notably were together a month ago in Texas. Williams was not able to join that appearance, but Rowland and Beyonce appeared onstage to endorse Kamala Harris for president at a “Reproductive Rights” rally. Rowland wore an oversized suit from Fear of God for the appearance, while Beyonce wore a blazer dress from Wardrobe.NYC. Knowles was also at that event and introduced the pair.
