Add Matt Ryan, a former Pro Bowl quarterback, NFL MVP, current CBS Sports analyst and recent inductee into the Atlanta Falcons Ring of Honor to the roster as the newest brand ambassador for Original Penguin and PGA Tour Apparel.
Oscar Feldenkreis, chief executive officer and president of Perry Ellis International, which owns or licenses the brands, said Ryan’s “dedication to his craft, both on and off the field, mirrors our passion for creating clothing that blends innovation, performance and style. His success in the NFL, paired with his enthusiasm for golf, makes Matt a natural fit for our brands as we continue to elevate our presence in the sports and lifestyle apparel markets.”
Under the terms of the deal, Ryan will wear the product both on and off the course.
“I’m honored to partner with Perry Ellis International as an ambassador for both Original Penguin and PGA Tour Apparel,” Ryan said. “These are brands that align perfectly with my personal style — whether I’m on the golf course or enjoying time with family and friends. The versatility and attention to detail are exactly what I look for in my wardrobe, and as someone who values both comfort and style, Original Penguin and PGA Tour Apparel are a natural fit for me.”
Original Penguin got its start in 1955 as an underwear and military supply company but became known for introducing a golf shirt to America. The PGA Tour, headquartered in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., co-sanctions tournaments on the PGA Tour, PGA Tour Champions and Korn Ferry tour. Its Tour members represent the best players from 28 countries and territories.
