Death becomes him.

Dick Van Dyke is in his Barbie era (thinking about death a lot). But when you have a legacy as strong as his, you’d also be okay with leaving it behind — especially with what’s to come. Van Dyke, who turns 99 on December 13, accepts his mortality in the new Coldplay music video for “All My Love”, where he’s moving and grooving while living his life to the fullest. The video begins by declaring that it was filmed on October 2024, and Van Dyke was born in 1925; he’s seen quite a bit during his time on earth. But he’s satisfied with what his legacy will be as he walks into his backyard to see Chris Martin on the keys. “I’m acutely aware that I, you know, could go any day now, but I don’t know why it doesn’t concern me,” he shares in the video. “I’m not afraid of it. I have that feeling, totally against anything intellectual that I’m gonna be alright.”

The music video concludes with Martin freestyle singing a song about Van Dyke’s life and career, much to his amazement. “You’ve got that on film?” he asks the camera as he smiles in disbelief of Martin.
