BYD launches industry-first megawatt EV chargers

BYD plans to deploy over 4,000 10C megawatt chargers throughout China in the coming years. By Stewart Burnett

On 17 March 2025, BYD launched its first 10C megawatt charging stations intended for passenger electric vehicles (EVs) with the 1000V high-voltage system. The new energy vehicle (NEV) giant claims the chargers can deliver around 400 km of range in five minutes, making it roughly comparable to filling a tank with gasoline.
